Getting Ready for September

A little preparation over the summer means a smooth first day. Work through this checklist so your child’s transportation is ready to go when school starts.

Back-to-School Checklist

  1. 1

    Confirm your address

Moved over the summer? Give your new address to your child’s school right away so transportation is reassigned.

  2. 2

    Register at the school

New students must be registered with the school before transportation can be arranged.

  3. 3

    Check eligibility

Confirm your child qualifies for busing — especially if they are starting a new grade division.

  4. 4

    Set up the Parent Portal

Create your BusPlanner Web account so you can see the bus, stop and times when they are posted.

  5. 5

    Note your stop and times

Find your assigned stop and be there five minutes early on the first day.

  6. 6

    Review safety together

Walk through danger zones, crossing and staying seated with your child before day one.

What will September 2026 look like?
Changing your address, your school or your before- and/or after-school care, or changing grade in a way that affects bus eligibility? Advise your school before June 15. After that date, please contact your school board office.
When will my information be ready?
Route, stop and time details are typically posted in the Parent Portal in late August. Keep checking the portal in the days before school starts, as details can be adjusted right up to the first day.
